Why do we require a down payment?

Why do I need to pay a deposit to wrap my vehicle?

This is a question Car Wrap City has heard more than once. We want to make sure you have all the answers you need before choosing to wrap with us. Car Wrap City requires a deposit for multiple reasons.

Are you having your vehicle’s color changed? Car Wrap City requires a deposit for color change/vanity wraps for two reasons.

The first reason is so the material for your wrap can be ordered. We do not keep an inventory of specialty vinyl. Instead, we prefer to order materials for each project so we can ensure the quality of vinyl being used. Think of it this way – when you order a meal at a restaurant would you rather a meal with fresh ingredients or is eating the plate of pre-cooked food that has been sitting out ok? Of course we all would prefer fresh! It’s the same concept with vinyl material. We prefer fresh material from the manufacturer to be shipped in for your project instead of using a color that could have been sitting out for an extended amount of time just waiting for someone to choose it.

The second reason we require a deposit for your color change/vanity wrap is so we can secure an install date for you. Install dates are reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Deposits are also required for projects requiring graphic design. These projects are a little different than color change wraps. The deposit you’re asked to pay for starting a design is so we can justify our graphic designer’s time being devoted to your custom project. Car Wrap City does not charge per hour when crafting your unique project. Instead, all design time is included in the initial price. We do this so there are no costly surprises at the end for going over your designated design time. We want to make sure each client is excited about their wrap, no matter how long it takes.

The deposit for a custom-designed wrap also goes toward the cost of materials to print your project. Each custom wrap is printed on the highest quality vinyl materials using state-of-the-art printers. These wide-format printers require a lot of ink to produce the vibrant, color-saturated designs created by our graphic design team.

After your deposit has been made and your project travels through the wrap process to completion, the remaining balance is not due until you pick up your freshly-wrapped vehicle. If you have any additional questions about the wrap process and the deposit required, please don’t hesitate to contact us by phone, online or in person.
